    Relay position sensitive?

We have installed 4 Trenton condensing units in the past several months. Each one has had the potential relay installed with the top arrow pointing down. Supply house tells us they are no longer position sensitive but are still labeled as such. I've turned them around none the less, but was wondering if that is the case?

From my experience, if they have an arrow, they are position sensitive and I would instal them in the correct position. I changed one out that was burnt very recently. I didn't realize it was upside down. I was drawing 30 amps because the relay wasn't able to come out of start. Like I said, that's just my experience.

If it has an arrow I would position correctly.
There are some that are not position sensitive.
