    Copeland Digital Scroll

I'm looking for the part number for the unloading solenoid for a Copeland Scroll. The compressor is a ZPD103KCE-TFD.

What a pain in the ass to get the compressor. And never replacing one before, I didn't realize it didn't come with a new solenoid. So apparently, that's a bigger pain in the ass.

Out of curiosity did the whole compressor fail or just the unloader? Was the motor running??

Nice document, Rundawg. Exactly what I needed.

We lost the compressor electrically. I will be reusing the old solenoid coil to get the compressor up and running tomorrow. But I still want to replace the coil, it doesn't look so good and this is a very important piece of equipment.

Was it a mechanical or electrical failure?

Also, how smoothly does your fans run during low ambient and low load conditions. I really wish they ran the VFD's off coil temperature, instead of head pressure. I have tweak the hell out of them and still get the high pressure alarms.

Shorted to ground probably due to mechanical issue the new compressor sounds pretty loud but has been running for a while now.......you can go into the Corel controller and change the settings on fans the fans I have have a vfd built in pretty cool set up I thought no issues in the fan dept but also had a EEV fail closed........ JTS has really cool tech support and service I just don't think copeland technology on these scrolls have got all the bugs out yet

I have messed with the PID of the VFD's on the condenser fans. I just can find a good setting, due to the rapid unloading and loading of the compressors and the VFD's running off head pressure. I did talk to there tech support. And was surprised to actually get ahold of Jeff Johnson, who designed the unit. We talked for quite awhile and the end result was we just have to deal with the alarms.

We also found that the expansion tank was piped in wrong from the factory.

I'm just curious where your fan settings are? Jeff said the default settings should be fine, but our problem is extended lack of load and our temperature region.

I picked up a new replacement scroll compressor a couple weeks ago at our local Liebert parts store. I noticed there was a bulliten on the counter regarding alot of digital scrolls out of Lieberts were being brought in for warranty replacement and the compressors were not bad. If i remember correctly Emerson wanted the technician to follow a troubleshooting procedure that they provided before you condemed a comp. I've yet to work on a copeland digital scroll but was told all the new lieberts have them. Has anyone had to replace a bad solenoid or modulation controller?
