FX Comm Pro N2 Open

We have been running FX tools on various laptops without problems, but most of them are XP based. We have just setup a Win 7 Pro 32 bit laptop and am having trouble getting the N2 Comm Pro to work. I had trouble installing it, but finally got it to install. When trying to run it today, it will not find the Com Port no matter what I tried. I am using an Edgeport 1 USB converter, which is recommended by JCI. The Edgeport will setup for Com1 and Com2 without any problem. But, when I run Comm Pro, it will take a few seconds and give me an error window "Cannot connect to Serial Port". I also tried disabling wireless and bluetooth. I also ran it in WinXP SP2 and SP3 Compatibility Mode, but still no good. Anyone have any suggestions or have a combination that works for them? Thanks.

The only way I could do it was by installing a running under a XP mode virtual machine.
