Seems to me we have made a 'god' (note the small g) out of voting... and totally forgotten the effect it has on the country when the WRONG person gets elected.

Get it right. Social Security isn't and never has been an entitlement. It's my money and if employed half is sent from my employer. It doesn't cost our government a thing and would be completely in the black if not for the IOU's put there by politicians starting with Regan trying to balance their budget. Medicare also would be ok if not for the conservative policy fo "Starve the Beast". To refuse to fund enforcement so the debt eventually ends the program. Who's the enemy here.
Don't call anything that uses my money an entitlement. Want to know what an entitlement is?? It's the 15% tax on capital gains. That's an entitlement.

Regardless... federal spending has to be trimmed, or the country will go broke... and ALL of us will loose.

If one really cares about 'their money'... where was this concern for the last few decades when the govt was handing out endless $$$ to everyone who's vote could be bought. ONe cannot come along at the last minute and expect someone to fix things...

But Romney won't trim spending. He will just direct it to overseas spending instead of domestic spending.
