Good dodge of answering the question Salty... not surprised you took the 'humble' out. IMO there were not many other ways to save face.

I do kinda wonder if you have an answer though... but I guess I will never know.

Ya know... unless one has either been the object of a bully, or a peacemaker (as in a by-stander that would not allow it to happen); they just do not understand. BTW: GA has walked in both of those sets of shoes.

It would be a fun thread at the Pub (in the Pro section, I doubt TPTB would allow this in public) to post some stories of bullies in govt school and how we handled them... <grin>

Govt schools teach bullying can be eradicated... wonder what they will do when they realize no amount of $$$ thrown at the problem can change human nature? Oh, I know... they will divert attention to something else... so they can save face.

No, Rome did not fall due to over-reach... Rome fell because of moral decay. Might want to read 'The Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire' by Gibbons.

And the USA has similar moral decay progressing as we type.

The liberal historians will say the USA fell over Empire... the conservative historians will say the USA fell from moral decay. Can they both be right?

Are you serious? These guys are motivated by generational indoctrination that goes back millenia, and in their holiest of books, their imaginary friend Allahu Snackbar commands them to "kill the infidels wherever they may be found". Their prophet Muhammad is allegedly personally responsible for an estimated 600 to 800 beheadings. Their goals are nothing less than complete global domination and subjugation or elimination of all non-muslims.

Actually yes they can. The people in power encourage people in their pleasures to distract them from what they are doing abroad and at home. It's all part of the same drive for power. Your historians are looking at symptoms and mistaking them for causes. Its all about personal power for those at the top. BTW I include both parties in this.

Out of curiosity how would you react to someone messing in your affairs without any chance of fighting back? They attack us because of our happiness, or they attack us because of their religion, is crap. They attack us because we have been messing around with politics, controlling them, and killing them for seven decades.

How do you explain the way they murder each other by the thousands? Do you think that the conflict taking place in Syria is because the US has been messing in their affairs?

    IMO very good observation!!!!!

Now IMO this leads us back to the founding fathers of the USA: They well understood the dangers of centralized power... Yet we allowed power to be centralized more and more and more... because we do not understand our own Constitution; and make our elected officials follow it.

IMO we as a country have the govt we deserve... because we do not keep them in line.

So if we were not messing with their world... would they leave us alone?

Do playground bullies leave alone the nerds in grade school?

Human nature does not change; regardless of race, color, religion, gender, creed, education, or a host of other things. Sometimes it takes on a different appearance (rednecks may whup your butt, bankers will sue you)... but the attitude behind it is the same.

When we learn to understand, rather than deny, we will start to take care of ourselves a bit better.

    Good example and GREAT answer!

The basic lust for power is what drives the dictator of Syria... not that different than what drives the playground bully.

Sounds ridiculous....and so does your conspiracy theory.

    Who released this video?
Truth is Astudent all it takes to calm these subhumans down is a strong American President who expresses very bluntly that an act of war ( its what this was ) will be met with massive and quick aggression.

Those animals only respect and understand one thing. Strength. They know Obama is a coward and so they hace nothing to lose.

Not getting behind Mubarek was obviously a mistake. But Obama is going to go a little further.

Hes going to give the Muslim Brotherhood over a billion dollars. I wonder what they're going to do with that ???
