Vintage TXV

I pulled this old timer from an under-counter line cooler at a local primary school. The building was put up in the 1950's and most of this cafeteria is original, and this coil and TXV look like they have never been changed.

When I pulled the inlet to check the screen, I found this interesting feature. There was an adjustable orifice with a dial like setting so you could lower the capacity down from the 1/2 ton rating.

Anyone seen something like this?
