Hello,
We moved into a remodeled 1940s 1 1/2 story bungalow end of last summer, and after a full winter and summer we're trying to figure out what to improve: one of the areas is the HVAC system.
The system was installed in 3/2005, and consists of:
A/S AUD060C936K
A/S 2Ton Allegiance 11 + matching coil
Honeywell 8320 (yes, the multistage one... I found it interesting but oh well)
It performs quite well its job of heating and cooling the house (we live in the Pacific NW, so we *really* needed cooling for maybe two weeks total...), but it has two minor problems.
1) 1 takeoff feeds the small bathroom and a bedroom in the main floor, and these rooms are way too hot in the winter and way too cold in the summer. Since there are no dampers in any of the takeoffs I figure this is an easy one, I will get someone to do it sometime in November/December.
2) we really miss the two stage heating we had in our previous place. The furnace is pretty much new so replacing it is out of discussion, but I still would like to explore the option of turning it into a two stage furnace: is it even feasible? If so, does it make sense economically (meaning the retrofit would cost more than a new one)?
Thanks in advance for your inputs.

Not feasible. Not advisable. Control board, gas valve and wiring are different.
Unfortunately, you can replace furnace or stick with single stage. You can't retro the existing furnace to make it two stage.Merry Christmas
