Ooops, I forgot to add a word here. It should read that a geothermal water heating system does NOT make the basement cold. Only an air source heat pump water heater will make the area cold.

John, to respond to your comment about initial cost possibly dropping, I can say with above 90% certainty that prices are only going up. I see multiple price increases from suppliers per month and the technology is by no means new to heat water so its costs are only going to go up.
