Thread: Watching Dem Convention

Glenn and I can swap differences and still be respectful of each other. Sometimes the written word can let us down or difference in understanding in context but rather than automatically taking it personal we question the others post for clarification. So far I can not recall any time in the past few years that we could not have opposing ideas (most of the time) without one of us getting in a snit. Not really sure why others can not do the same (on his behalf or mine).

Did anybody notice the class warfare signs during the Dem Convention? People were holding signs that said "Middle Class First" I thought they were the party that was for defending the lower income class. How about "America First".
And did anyone pick up on Clinton's comments on student loan debt? He didn't give any advice on how to reduce it or avoid it. His solution was to give you 20 years to repay. And the sliding scale idea is a joke. The Govt already will work with you and adjust your payments based on your income.
Yeah go get more debt. We'll give you more time to pay it back.

Thanks printer, I couldn't have said it better myself. I will have to admit I've been cautioned about referring to Democratic voters as "socialists" well some definitely are and some are just liberals who don't know any better in my opinion.
Anyhow this gets some folks' goat so I will try to use that term more sparingly unless one just about openly declares himself one. And while we'll still debate the points here I will in the spirit of "can't we all just get along" try and cut some more slack to those who's hide hasn't toughen up through years of verbal warfare here and elsewhere. Thank you, thank you very much"I could have ended the war in a month. I could have made North Vietnam look like a mud puddle."
"I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size. I do not undertake to promote welfare, for I propose to extend freedom. My aim is not to pass laws, but to repeal them."

Well sometimes I think you may overdo it with the liberal or socialist tags, said too often and they loose any relevance. I tend to read your posts and skip over them and read the message that you are actually trying to convey. It might be easier for me to do though being on the outside looking in, also the fact that calling someone a Liberal here is not necessarily a bad thing.

There are liberal dems in the news who get offended at that flag. Like Obama Bin Laden.
