    Vacuum on package unit

    Doing start up on 2-10 ton package unit this is my first package unit start up do I need to pull a vacuum?

    What are you going to pull a vacuum on? The system should already be charged and there is no field installed lineset.

    Try downloading the manual for these units and study them. There’s a lot more to a start up then pulling a vacuum!

    Start should be performed by somebody a lot more familiar with equipment

    have to learn at some point. did fine wired in heater, and performed start up successful. have 4 more to do.

    bigpap

    some important things

    phase rotation

    phase imbalance

    tighten ALL connections

    remove shipping brackets

    check fire smoke detectors if 5 tons or bigger

    check belt, prolly loose and rubbing on one side of shiv.

    If you have to ask this question, then your probably not qualified to do the startup.

    I know you have to learn at some point, but you should have an experienced tech be with you and teach you on your first startup.

    I know you have to learn at some point, but you should have an experienced tech be with you and teach you on your first startup. It's not fair to the customer.
