When the crook I was working for stopped paying me, I figured I'd be back to work inside of a week. That was late June I think, in the end he burned me for two weeks (not bad compared to some of the other guys). Never saw this coming, I can't believe it.
I did get hired pretty quickly by a company who, as it turned out, had no work for me. That one lasted a month. At least they were able to give me that, I'm very appreciative.
I don't get it though, I have twelve years in the trade and some good experience. Started in residential, moved to light commercial, then commercial with refrigeration, then strictly markets, then moved to DC area for strictly chillers. I have tons of McQuay schools behind me and a wake of bosses that I'm proud to use as references. Ten months ago my wife and I had our first, a little girl and now I need a permanent home type job.
Can't believe the lack of interest in my resume. Or maybe more then that, my inability to just grab up a job and stay where I land. I mean I accepted a job but the process has been so incredibly slow that were going to be homeless and without a car or phones before I get a paycheck. I'd say I sent out 30 resumes, for three interviews. Now I'm afraid of the background check process, my credit indicates some secret severe financial baggage.
I hadn't even filed unemployment either, until last week and of course instead of getting the debit card they apparently use I got a request for proof of wages in the mail.
After proofreading, I'm not sure if I'm looking for advise or just gratuitously sort of yammering on. Certainly of anyone knows of anything please let me know, I need somewhere to work for the next ten years....
