Need help ASAP
2 severe T'storms in an hour, power blinked but didn't go off. Fan runs, outside compressor does not turn on. A/C ran great until storms came thru. Flip the main power switch to outside unit..nothing.
Help, what's wrong?

Possible lightning damage. Call a service tech to diagnose problem. Try turning unit off for an hr or two then try to restart it

Ok ok...I did remember about them and couldn't pass this up!
Try resetting the indoor unit too. And are you saying the outdoor fan runs or indoor?

not good
I would suggest next time Scott fixes the machine, have him put in a supco surge protector. They sell them at his favorite supply house.

That was a good service call. Got it fixed and the fix was free. You might call your service pro. and have him check and clean every thing. That contactor might be burned.
