Voter ID, why Democrats don't want it

Typically hypocritic Democrats claiming there is no such thing as voter fraud are quick to cry "voter fraud" when they are not winning an election;

So, to Democrats, voter fraud only exists when they are most likely going lose or have lost an election, but voter fraud does not exist when Democrats can use the access to voter fraud to pad the votes. Talk about typical two faced hypocrites.

There is no argument. Either you support taking simple, non costly measures to help prevent voter fraud or you support voter fraud.

I don't think its as cut and dry as that. Look at it like the legal system. Just because its designed so 100 guilty men go free before one innocent man is sent to prison doesn't mean that we want guilty men to go free. Its just which should take precedence.
I haven't made my mind up on the voter ID issue because I can't decide what should take precedence. But then again I'm not a Democrat or Republican so I don't have to think the way the party does.

In my state we don't have to show ID to register and can easily register via mail. However, when we get to the poll to vote we must show ID to vote and it is recorded that we voted. This makes it more difficult for someone to vote in our place or for me to go home and return to vote for dead relatives since we must show a current valid ID. We also sign our name on a register indicating that we cast our vote.

That makes sense, but think of all the hundreds of thousands if not millions of illegal Mexicans that can legally get current valid ID (driver's license) and also get registered to vote. By having them show "current valid ID" isn't going to prevent potentially millions of cases of voter fraud--is it? And, in case anybody doesn't know it, illegal Mexicans (or any other illegals for that matter) are not legally permitted to vote in the United States of America--right?

It is simply astounding to me that in the US, you guys don't have to prove eligibility to vote! The home of the almighty Patriot Act... Lol
If you think about it, by forcing people to show ID this eliminates every possible complaint about the elections process except for bad counting.

millions of illegal Mexicans get a valid DL and they get registered to vote at the same time or they get registered later. They show valid and current ID when voting, but their vote was illegal. This is the real voter fraud problem, but republicans are too big awh cowards to talk about it. So, it makes requiring "current valid ID" to vote seem trivial by comparison.

My great grandfather is 87 years old....he barely walks anymore, and he can't see to drive. If he is to get a voter ID card, someone has to make a special trip to get him in the car, get him out of the car, and expect him to wait in line for who knows how long, the whole time coughing and throwing up around other people.

You tell me Republicans...how is this a free America? Forcing people to do things that they should not have to do in order to utilize a RIGHT that was given to them by our constitution.

Republicans are constantly bashing the rest of the world for instituting communism and socialism, basically calling everyone that is not a republican a slave driver...and yet here they are...doing the very thing they have supposedly sought out to fight.

I am not Democratic....I am not Republican...I am American....and thank you all very much for damning this country with a corrupted two party system, and not having the guts to fight against evil. Honeslty, if you have pride in our nation, why wouldn't you be in favor of voter ID? I see some of the points about the eldery and disabled, but with the free voter buses run by both sides I can't imagine they couldn't get their ID.

It is not a problem for him to vote because he lives across the street from a church that holds voter polls...but it is becoming
more and more difficult to get his legal documents because he has to Wait in line all day and someone has to be with him.

This shouldn't even be an issue! Of course one should show their ID in order to cast a vote. There is no rational argument that can be raised against it. Those that would oppose voter ID are irrational people with something to hide...plain and simple.

Sure...except that an ID is not going to stop any fraud.

We need something more reliable than a person sitting behind a desk,at the DMV.

If you are going to do something do it right. I would agree more with this law if it didn't have to be an up to date ID...which only makes people that don't need an ID obtain one....and no I'm not talking about illegals.

Anybody person breathing oxygen should have a valid ID....no excuses.

If they don't, then they are hiding something or mentally disturbed.

If not a drivers license, then a valid state ID card. My son is 11 years old and has an ID card.
