    gotta love on-call

    On call again ...
    No big deal , been doing it 25 years or so.

    Couple of restaurant calls , animal hospital and the famous ........

    Small business owner calls and says " my landord is busy and said to call you,I have no A/C!"

    I explain the landlord needs to call it in so we have the proper billing info and authorization such as $$$ limits etc on record .

    I also explain if I come out and the landord refuses YOU will be responsible for the bill.

    I get " the landlord can't call ,she's to busy, I'm not paying ,(pause) my husband does this for a living so ill get him to do it , good bye"

    I'm not an idiot ,ain't my first rodeo people .No free ac repair today.

    Had to vent

    Yeah, I love that one. It usually comes on Friday(payday) about 6pm, right after the dispatcher dumped 3 more calls on you before forwarding the phones and going home...

    It's funny how having some money in their pocket suddenly makes them unable to survive another night without AC.
    If more government is the answer, then it's a really stupid question.

    I hate call. I'm on every other week so that's why I guess, people with there not so emergencies get annoying.

    Yeah that sucks. I lost an easy job last night because she couldn't wait until the morning. In the same breath she told me it had been several days.

    Why didn't she get her husband to do it in the first place?

    I think it had something to do with being full of crap.

    I assume they went to the next company in the phonebook.


    The old my landlord said to call ,then you bill the landlord and they won't pay because they didn't authorize ,and the tenant wont pay either.

    And your pretty much out of luck .

    My boss loses money and it screws me in the long run as well.

    I hate on call, always have!!! I, like everyone have a life that does revolve around your a/c. Never worked for a 24hr company and never will. U call me at 2am.... Nobody on the other end.lol. People act they're gonna melt or something. Ran call every other weekend for a year then told boss man it's over. 4 week rotation is the most I'm doin. Best of luck.

    He is right. Our customers will gladly wait a little while for a call back, the others will keep dialing down the phone book. A tip off is when they ask "Which company are you with?" Which company did you call? All of them, now its a race for your money. No thanks.
