New Mcquay water source heatpump problems

Ive been starting up some new Mcquay water source heat pumps and have found some issues that I thought I would share. The 2.5 tons units have problems with the reversing valves not switching. Apparently the factory says the reversing valves are oversized and can't build up enough pressure to switch at start up. Their fix is to upgrade the control board software to version 3.0 which changes how the valve switches. It seems to work. The other issue I have found is plugged up distributors from the factory causing low suction temp alarm. When I open them up I find out the guy who silvered the fittings went a little heavy on the flux.

I have a property where every single Mcquay WSHP (R410A) has had a refrigerant leak on the discharge line. Also about 85% of the plastic drain pans are cracked. Mcquay did not warranty anything.

I was involved in an install of about 160 ish 1 ton Mcquay WSHP's. Umm where to start.. Leaks on probably 20 to 30 of them at the evap suction header. THen there is no low pressure switch so If we were not told about is soon enough we had a bad compressor too!.
Also there were wiring issues and bad solder joints on boards. Also the Freeze protection sensors failed. Probably 50 of them. The wire was very loose in the sensor..

Biggest POS. I dont know what they are doing over there but I cringe when I hear Mcquay lately.

I had another account that needs about 100 WSHP's. I made it known my opinion with Mcquay. They took my advice thank God.

Mcquay is good about covering warranty items as long as you go through the local rep.

McQuay WSHP are not better or worst than the others, I had encounter the same issues with ClimateMasters AKA Carrier and FloridaHP, the winning price for the crappiest and poorly designed WSHP goes to Trane.

Trane is terrible... I like the Carrier ones the best. I am installing a McQuay 2 ton, I only need it to cool, is this a mistake?
