    Rush Limbaugh show

So I'm listening to the Rush show today in the truck, and he was playing a clip from the Republican convention where Paul Ryan was talking about how Obama thought of himself as the most important person in everyone's eyes and he went on and on about Obama thinking he is a messiah. Rush Agreed.

Right after this they went to commercial, and what do ya know...the automated Rush announcement said that the Rush Limbaugh network was the center of the Universe....

    Odd? Maybe...

    Funny? Definitely

You obviously cannot discern when someone is being serious and when they are being facetious. Rush does a LOT of tongue in cheek stuff such as talking like the liberals in an obviously phony tone to mimic their hypocrisy.

Stay tuned though. You'll finally hear facts you have obviously been shielded from until now! ;-)

hearthman, I like to listen to how you twist everything that happens into a rant against the liberals.

    Try this one....

"A liberal saves a drowning kid in a heroic measure while no one else steps in to help".

I would like to see what you come up with.

"While everyone else could see the undertow was simply too strong to attempt a rescue by swimming out to save the boy,.. the liberal there was so full of hot air in his big-empty head he was able to float in the air and go save the boy. Good work"

This is a trick because a liberal himself would not think an average citizen could save a drowning kid. He would want to create a government agency full of totally unqualified incompetent drones who produce nothing except regulations over private citizen first responders who would then be legally forbidden from responding to the drowning person without first being in the rescue union, take all sorts of extravagent BS courses at your own expense even though there is supposed to be millions of dollars around for 'education' then file a stack of forms for the privilege of achieving the most coveted status of government sanctioned rescuer. Then he can take some ridiculous tests to qualify for the position, file more forms and wait to hear why they lost them and he'll need to re-apply again but this time in person and by the way, he didn't provide all the secretly required other credentials and recommendations by a bureaucrat who will first confirm his voter registration as a democrat. Then, once he's finally gotten everything he needs and actually attempts to respond to render aid, he will be stopped by federal agents of some obscure agency and the cops preventing him from rescuing the kid in time.

How's that Mike? I realize it is a toned down version of reality but that's be best I could come up with before the Internet police find me.

I guess we'll just have to wait for the polar ice caps to melt from global warming thus raising the ocean's levels to where the kid washes up to where we can pull him up onto a rooftop with us.

There would be no conservatives diving in to help the boy because they would want to make a business out of saving drowning kids and would have to wait for payment before the job was done....after all of this waiting the child would have passed away..but of course the conservative would be gracious enough to only charge half price.

You see? The stupidity goes both ways...stop it.

I take things Rush or any other radio/ TV personality says with a grain of salt. Sure he thinks highly of himself but so what. Rush has spent millions of his own personal fortune in donations to good causes and holds a impromptu telethon every year for the Luekemia and Lymphoma Societiy.

Each year donating up to 500,000 dollars to the shareathon.

Aside from his politics hes a stand up guy not to mention calling into Rushs show is a good way to score a 3000.00 Apple Pro Book for a door prize. He gives them away or other Apple products after the callers go back to the screeners and he rarely discusses it.

I know a guy that got a 17" ProBook from his show and it was an out of the blie offer. Apple doesnt even advertise on his show.

Listen to Paul Ryan. Hes a great example of what a US politician should be. Honest, intelligent and with the right Conservative beliefs. He will be your President one day. Dont listen to the Lib spin and lies that are being told about him. A libers worst enemy is an honest man.

Stop it? You started it Scooter. As for accusing conservatives wanting to make a business out of saving drowning kids, I have to say that as a retired paramedic who knows probably 95% of my fellow medics were also conservative, I find this comment revolting. Sure, I was paid for delivering advanced life support but let me assure you we were paid very, very low wages. In fact, when I started at a hospital ambulance service, we were paid less than half of minimum wage because the union we were forced into against everyone of our wishes told us to our faces our wages were sacrificed so the predominantly minority janitorial and caferteria workers could get a raise. Now, you do raise a good point because if a public service got out of hand to the point it cost several times more than what a private service could deliver the same or better care for then yes, I would be for privatization of EMS. In fact, the vast majority of EMS's in this country do charge for their services but since to deny treatment or transportation is considered abandonment, NOBODY can be refused care. We already have socialized medicine for many of those the liberals claim don't get health care. They are offered free clinics but refuse to go, choosing on their own to wait only until they are in dire trouble to call EMS for what eventually becomes a free ride to the ER for what becomes free emergency care delivered by the best health care system the world has ever know. It all gets slightly compensated for under indigent health care tax millege. Most never gets collected but the point is nobody is refused care. Moreover, these people risk their lives to do this while getting spat on, clawed, punched, accused of attacks in the back of the ambulance--all sorts of public abuse but we still did it because we loved helping our fellow man as most conservatives do. They give of themselves, they give to charity and much of it never gets reported or is never claimed on taxes.

If you want to look at privatization of public services look at the fine job the city of Camden, NJ has done and what they are doing to provide law enforcement in the Detroit of the East.

Now, ask yourself why is it the city of San Francisco has to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for Fire Dept captains? Look up the top ten highest paid public servants in the US and most are in SF including the top dog who is a public school system RN who makes over half a million dollars per year! Now, since my wife is a critical care RN of 34 yrs I can assure you that she and all the nurses she knows all over the country make only a small fraction of that amount. So tell me, why not privatize such a corrupt system? Does privatization make it evil? Do you think the workers employed by such services are greedy or evil?

Who is more greedy: the one who worked hard and earned the money or the one who did nothing except covet and steal the other man's money or hire a politician to do his dirty work for him?

Get back to the OP: have you listened to Rush Limbaugh for awhile and if so what has he said that offends you specifically?

Funny, our EMS people don't seem overly conservative. Could it be something in the water?

That's because we pay them a living wage and there isn't much to gripe about

Originally, my living wage was paid to those minority union workers. You know: redistributing my wealth to them. Maybe the reason your paramedics don't seem overly conservative is because you live in a socialist country so everyone has been indoctrinated.

So when you watched Saturday Night Live, did you think their skits were real commercials?
