    WebCTRL 5.6 multi browser support

    Any rumors on this dealer side?

    According to other ALC owned dealers/branches, it's not going to happen for 5.6 or anytime in the near future.

    That would be a shame. We were thinking of updating our ALC facility when they get that capability.

    They are testing it now, but not a full beta till years end.

    I hope it is soon. I get asked quite often about using another browser. I guess more or less to really be able to use it on their phones, which I understand.

    The current version is almost useless on a smart phone. You keep zooming in and out and my fat finger keep hitting the wrong thing. They really need a mobile version or app.

    WC5.5 does not support it but as stated above, now in Beta. Safari amoung others will be supported

    We just went to 5.5 and I would love to use an Ipad when checking in the field instead of a laptop. I heard rumor that big changes were coming in 5.6 at the first of the year but what that was is still a mystery.

    Yes, our sales people are showing customers how to use RDP or other tools to get to SiteScan via ipad. Works fine but a computer is required. One customer set up a small virtual machine just for that.

    I can neither confirm nor deny that our graphics people are working on getting our graphics working in other browsers with a 5.6 beta.
