Rheem RPRL Heat Pump 501 tstat.
Hello,
I had a new split system installed last month (rheem rprl and rhpn 5 ton) with the comfort control 2 communicating tstat. My installer was not too familiar with the system. I notice the outdoor temp is reading 50 degrees more then the actual outdoor temp. I cannot find anyone who knows why this is. Would any of you guys have an idea why?
Thanks
Jim

Hello. Yes it is. However, it has done this at night without sun and also has given me much lower temp readings. It's was installed a month ago and seemed fine at that time. I noticed the odd temp readings a couple weeks ago. Is it common for the sensor to go?

Not common, but it does happen. More likely its a wiring problem.

Hello,
Can the T-stat wires being too close to the hi voltage lines cause this? Last night it read 155 and this morning 164 - it was n the 60's last night.

Thanks for your help. This seems to be a tough issue to resolve and not much info online about it. If anyone on this board heard of this problem let me know.
