A ran across some L series units yesterday that were 2002 models that were charged with 410 A from the factory. Has anyone else seen this and I didn't think I would see the new refrigerants for another year or two in HVAC. I worked with 410 A doing Low temp many years ago a replacement for 12 and if I remember correctly DOT wouldn't aprove it for automobiles because there is a precentage of propane in it. I may be wrong about this. I liked it because it seem to have more cooling capacity that R-12 and much more than 134 A.

Did you mean R409 as a replacement for R12? R410 runs at MUCH higher pressures.

I haven't seen any yet, but I hear all the manufacturers are making their RTUs in R410A now or very soon. I've liked those Lennox L series so I'm glad to hear they maybe available in R410A now.
