Unarguably most typical homeowners wouldn't have bothered to even soil their hands, but this crap fascinates me. I've always been the home handyman type and neighbors sometimes look at me strange when I mention having replaced my own garbage disposer or garage door opener or exterior window beading myself. Even people my own age (mid-60s) apparently grew up living very sheltered lives and never learned how to do anything more technical than changing a light bulb, always hiring it done for them. Fine if you can afford it, some of us can't. Coming from a technical field (commercial broadcast engineer) no doubt helps. HVAC and 50,000-watt Harris transmitters have absolutely nothing in common except for having "stuff" inside the box. The only real similarities are that the covers for both are held on by screws.
