I'm having my 3 ton AC compressor moved from one end of my house to the other (where the furnance is located now and it will also be out of the hot sun at the new location). An HVAC company here in Minnesota is doing the work.
A new 220v/60 amp line to a GE disconnect will go to the new location.
My question is; are there any codes that govern the weathertightness of the "line" side of the 220v line that comes thru
the house siding and into the disconnect box?
I realize that the HVAC company will use armored cable or such to run the 220v load side from the box to the AC compressor.
Is it enough that they just chaulk the hole the 220v line runs thru? The line side comes into the back of the disconnect box.
Thanks
