    JCI ADS BACnet/IP 3rd Party

    Hello,

We are looking into a new system for couple of buildings. 90% of the system is JCI NAE's with a ADS.

Is the only way to BACnet/IP other controllers (JACE 545) into the JCI system is using the auto discovery into a NAE?

Can we bring in 3rd party BACnet/IP supervisory devices onto the ADS - site director.

    Thanks

FX Jace licensed properly for your app is the only way that I know of to integrate 3rd party devices into your system. NAE is solid as long as you do not need do multi party integration.

Yes, you must bring the BACnet/IP objects into an NAE before getting them to the ADS. You can bring them in to your existing NAEs if you have capacity, and you could also split the points accross a couple of NAEs if you want to. I persona;lly prefer to have a dedicated NAE for this simply because it simplifies troubleshooting.

    Question

I used your info about the NAE also, thanks.

Is there a special model of NAE for the BACnet IP aplication or is the MS/TP ready for this?

As far as I know- I think all NxE's can talk BacNet / IP.
