    Alterton - Exhaust fan status

    Hello,

I would like to know the easiest way to send the on/off status of a Fantech MV304E fan to an Alterton BMS. The BMS side is being taken care of. We need a way to setup a non-voltage relay that opens and closes when fan is on/off. We should be able to purchase the relay and the adapter/device without having to do soldering etc. It should be 24 VAC to be installed by someone who is not an electrician.

    The fan spec is here.

    Appreciate anyones help in advance.

You need to use a current sensor on the power feed to the fan. I use Senva mini Current sensors because they pick up on 0.25 amps or higher.

I typically use a MAMAC current switch. As soon as the sensor senses current, it closes a contact that is connected to the DI of the BAS.

SENVA is my choice for current switches, very affordable and fast shipping. Call them and ask for Rob.
If you can't fix it with JB Weld, Duct Tape, and Ty Wire it has to be replaced.
    No good deed goes unpunished.
If you want to take off friday to go fishing then make sure you train your helper right.
