Subcooling bouncing between 6 degrees and 15 degrees??

Installed new compressor in a burnout situation on a walk-in beer cooler condensing unit. New HH suction line drier, l.l drier. My superheat was also bouncing between 15 degrees and 20 degrees. R-22. I made sure the bulb on the txv was tight and insulated properly. Will be doing a follow up on this unit tomorrow, but was just curious if the case being 50 degrees and a boat load of warm beer would cause this hunting.http://hvac-talk.com/vbb/images/smilies/cheers2.gif

Your SH should fluctuate 8-12; 15-20 is telling me the TXV needs to be opened or just replace it to play it safe.

Where is the bulb in reference to evap outlet?
