    That has been on the HVAC Calc site for years, and has been posted on these forums a number of times. It pops up in training classes from time to time too.
    If more government is the answer, then it's a really stupid question.

    Oldie, but a goodie.

    Down the street from me, there's a 1940's 5000sqft single story ranch designed by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright. Yes it's very, very long. So how do you use this chart for that?

    I think you have to reverse those house pictures when you use them to size a heat pump.

    As accurate as a rule of thumb like "btus per sq ft" or sizing based on what's there. Our our competitor who uses some website that determines size based on a satellite photo of the home.

    Yeah, but he uses's the infrared heat signature, mode off of the satellite, right?
