i'm looking to go to school for hvac. my wife graduates college next may and will land a good paying job which leaves me the option of quiting my factory job and going to school fulltime. i know nothing about hvac i never took it in tech. when i was in high school. my question is are these college classes for hvac for ones who already have exper. and need to get certified or will they build me from the ground up.

They start with the fundamentals. Depending where you go first half of class is theory and second half was hands on. Not all offer hands on. I went to a private tech school. So yes they start assumming you know nothing, or at least they should.

After the first semester, try and get a part time job in the field as an apprentice. That way, you will eat, sleep, and sheit HVAC. Good luck!!
