Sounds like the checkvalve on the pump is bad. Once you turn the pump off the vacuum in the utility hose is pulling the oil out of your pump.
We carry 7cfm vac pumps in our vans. I've had a few instances where my service hose gets filles with oil when pulling a vac on a small lineset. Is it the position of the vac pump and my manifold causing this. TIA Fitz

pull vacuum hose off pump as soon as you shut the pump off.
Check for oil overfill (look at sight glass while pump is running also) and close the pump valve before shutting down pump
I had that same issue with my 7cfm. I solved it by using a hose with a ball valve on it. Close ball valve, turn off pump, party like a rockstar!
do you start/run vacuum with positive pressure? i have also had this happen with to much oil... good luck
I shut the pump off and didn't close off my ball valve on my hose or shut the valve off on my pump. Thanks for all the advice.
