Is the oil screen located in the sump itself or behind the pump?

It is in the sump. The plug "usually" on the bottom left of the compressor.

thanks, pulled that plug today and it didnt have a screen attached to it. probably ate up

screen isn't attached.

It sometimes get kinda jammed up in there.

You might need a small hook of sorts to get it out.
