New LIEBERT discharge service valve hard to turn.
I have a discharge service valve for a 06D semi comp to replace. The new one is very hard to turn with a service valve wrench. I want to be sure this is normal before installing it, in case the stem is bent. Anyone else find this the case?

Try backing the packing out a half turn, if you haven't already, open or close valve then tightened packing back to prevent leaking. If that don't help try the disassembly and oil. If both fail pitch it!! Good luck.
