New house heat pump capacity
Can the AC portion of the heat pump be upgraded? Concerned that a 3 ton is not enough AC to take care of 2000+sf with all bedrooms upstairs. When we toured house yesterday in 90 degree weather, the only thermostat in the house (downstairs) was set at 78 - the upstairs was at least 10 degrees warmer. This is new construction, and we're concerned about cooling the bedrooms in the heat of a SC summer.

A common problem with both older homes and new construction. Have a separate system installed upstairs.

Ask the builder to see the Manual J and D load calculation on the house to determine if it is sized correctly. Chances are one or both are not correct
