Walk in running a little high

Hey guys. I just got promoted to hvac/r guy at the hotel I work at (dollar raise that I was promised last year and more responsibility woo hoo). Anyway most of my experience is in residential so I can use a little help.

I have a walk in thats running a little high the first thing I checked was the temp control to see if someone messed with it (these people are after my job). That's when I came up on a control I've never seen before. The only numbers on it are twt36 60hz 250vac 25a. It has a range of 60 to 250 so I'm not sure how to adjust it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That looks like \an oven thermostat, not a walk-in stat.

Have you done a full work up on the system? Pressures, temperatures, etc?

Alright just wanted to make sure it wasn't just me. The thing is already as far clockwise as it can go, I tried the other way and all it seems to do is make the temp go up.

That looks like a thermostat I saw last week in a mechanical room to control the exhaust fans.

with this installed on unit.. who knows what you are going to find. i would start cleaning then check out everything. superheat/subcooling? case temp? check back side of evaporator coil. may be starting to freeze up.

I dont see any sensing bulb.. To me looks like a fan control on a furnace

Is this a cooler or freezer? Could be a fan delay on a freezer with hot gas defrost.

Have you traced the wires back? Are you sure that is the temp control for the unit? The knob is marked, but if someone broke the knob, they might have thrown anything they had on it. The knob on the dryer I keep in the shop is marked about 60° off from where it should be. I just ignore it.

Yes that is a hotside stat. Curious how that is being used in a cooler. Let us know how this one turns out.

Okay I think I figured it out. The wire is running into the door, so I'm guessing it keeps it warm so it doesn't stick.
As far as why the temp was a little high the ambient temp was too much for the unit to handle so I put so fan to help keep it cool.
