burnt out compressor
I seem to remember from school that when the compressor in a system burns out you have to use filters on it to make sure you get all the oil out of the system. I just can't remember what type of filters and how and when to use them. Is it during recovery or after comp is out do you push the oil through with nitrogen. Any help????

Yes,yes, and yes. Use a drier to recover gas to prevent contaniments in recovery machine. You can blow out a system with nitrogen or a system flush. Install a HH drier and suction filter. These may need to be replaced after some run time. When all is said and done, remove the suction filter(even though nobody else does)

filters will not take oil out.... you maybe talking about a suction drier. it will remove acid...a new liquid line drier will be required.. a suction drier is for temporary operation it must be removed... I have used suction driers but not often it all depends on the severity of the burn out...
it was working.... played with it.... now its broke.... whats the going hourly rate for HVAC repair
