    US Political Party Options

Are the Democratic Party and the Republican Party our only options? Aren't they "two wings of the same bird of prey?" (Pat Buchanan)

    Remember Ross Perot?

Is it better to vote for the lesser of two evils or for the man of principle? What if the man of principle is considered a "spoiler," and can only hope to bring about the success of the greater of two evils?

Is the Tea Party a spoiler?

If you can't replace an existing party with a new third party, can you infiltrate one of the existing parties and modify it from within?

If you can't elect a man of principle for president, why not elect men of principle to the House and Senate?

Should a government protect the liberties of all its citizens (their inalienable rights) or should it protect the privileges it has given to groups of people (at the expense of other citizens)?

Don't Republicans trample our rights just as much as Democrats?

What has happened to the philosophies of John Locke, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, John Adams, Adam Smith, Patrick Henry, and Thomas Paine, the geniuses behind the foundation of the United States?

Is Truth something we will learn some time in the future? Or is Truth something which is already known, and which should not be discarded as we continue to explore and develop new frontiers?

How can you know the answer to this question (and to questions about what is best for us as a nation), if you don't study and learn from the past?

This video is a history lesson about American governmental philosophy and its effects. It illuminates the past and present, and suggests a few simple requirements for a successful third party.

It does not advocate any political party.

Lots of good questions... makes one think.

Wish I had time to watch the movie... not now... perhaps later.

I think folks need to think about these questions!

You will never get the "perfect" candidate. We have to start somewhere and not voting for a Rep. will be as good as voting for the commie. This country was not dismantled in a day, and will take more than that to reconstruct it. Little by little, is how it will have to be done. You better have as much determination and patience as the left does as well.....or just hand them the keys to your kids right now.

You may be right this year, but what about the next time around? Should we keep voting for the lesser of two evils in presidential elections? Should we keep the Dems and Reps in power in Congress and the White House?

If we keep electing honorable men to Congress, like we did in 2010, will we have the nerve to vote for a man of principle in the presidential election, regardless of Dem and Rep propaganda?

Or will we continue to aim for the second worst candidate on the list?

We espouse the ideals of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, and then we vote for the people who lie to us, steal from us, and trample our freedoms and our authority. They aren't doing it to us, we are!

    We act like battered wives.

We still have one who follows and teaches that philosophy. His name is RON PAUL !

A candidate by himself cannot succeed. He needs support from his party and from at least 38% of the voters (according to the video).

Democrats and Republicans only have about 30% of voters supporting each of their parties. 40% of voters are independent. If Tea Partiers and independents got together and formed a third political party, they would be more powerful than the Dems and Reps.

This is a new opportunity for the exercise of principled politics in America.

Well space we haven't had a real "American" President since Regan in my opinion. However be that as it may we can either choose communism in this election, treading water or throwing your vote away and allowing a communist get elected and believe me you haven't seen nothing yet if he gets another chance of 4 years.

It will be national suicide. I of course will choose treading water. I always vote conservative when given the choice and against the communist or most left wing candidate when I don't have one a conservative to vote for. What you say about what we have been getting is correct but I can't of course agree with allowing a communist to get elected because I want to stand on my principle. Thank you, thank you very much

You wish you were French! You would have better wine and less poverty. Maybe even the ability to recognize B.S.

Huh ? Less poverty ? Do you know what Frances unemployment rate is ? 10% with underemploymemt at around 25%.

Their unemployment rate for youth is 25%.

France for some god awful reason took the liberal approach to immigration cslled multi-culturalism that has created massive ghettos of impovershed people and threatens to change the face of France and Countries like England and Germany.

Its a hell hole and their liberals are responsible for it.

France, like Brittan, had colonies around the world and in both cases when you were considered a citizen of either Brittan or France, you had the right of a British or French citizen in that you could live anywhere in the British or French empire. Moving forward to today people from the past colonies have a political connection with either country and retain some rights to live on British or French soil (respectively)

Now the problem with the ghettos is not from an experiment with multiculturalism (if you want to see a country that thrives on multiculturalism look north) but of having massive immigration to fill low paying jobs when employment was low and help needed, now that jobs are in short supply the immigrants are jobless and unhappy.

It has nothing to do with liberalism but with employers that wanted cheap labor as with your Hispanic problem (although Brittan and France tried to control who came in) or with us and our meat processors (although we do not seem to have a problem with them). The packers sponsored immigrants to do work at half the cost in order to compete with American processors that use cheap immigrant labor. Now if all those immigrants we brought in to fill the low paying jobs ended up out of work we may have the same problem.

Please explain DETROIT! And BALTIMORE and STOCKTON and......where do we stop? Your argument is not even remotely acceptable - even to the feeble minded. Please expand the definition of ghettos and impoverished people. Wages, people in France earn a living wage.
    Keep on keepin' up!
