    York Chiller

I have a York chiller (MN: YS CA BB S1 - CG E) and I need to calibrate the valve slide. I can not find any litature on how to do this. I've been referred to York Service Manual 160.81-M1, however, it is only a parts list. Do you have detailed instructions on how to calibrate this slide valve?
    Thanks,

    Charles.

I thought the stepper motors on EXV's were self calibrating since they homed to o positon at power-up.

This isn't an EXV. It's the slide valve on the compressor that controls its capacity.

How? I go into the calibrate slide valve screen and the only option I have is start calibration. I push that, and it pops up a message that calibration failed.

U have to manually calibrate at potention meter remove the cover and use your probe and poke on j20 pin on red and black wire using dcv meter and .836dc start to calibrate using small flat screw driver try to turn slowly then u tighten on the potention meter..

The service manual you want is Form 160.80-M1. It's the service instruction for the Optiview control panel. M1 are definitely nots parts lists...they are service instructions. Parts manuals have an RP suffix.

As far as posting detailed instructions in an open forum...I won't do it. Maybe someone else will.

BTW, the stuff "servicetrane" gave you is for the old style single line panels. You have an Optiview panel, these instructions won't work.

Calibration will always fail if you do it when the chiller is off. Try it when it's running.

Every search for service manual 160.80-M1 came up with a 12 page PDF file that just listed part numbers. As for the calibration, I did do that while it was running. It popped a message up saying calibration failed.

If you are trying to get M literature from the JCI website you are out of luck. They don't share that information. Put your email address in your profile and I'll email the calibration procedure. None of the advice you've been given is accurate for an Optiview panel.
