McQuay Unit how many tons
Good afternoon everyone.
Attached is a photo of a unit nameplate. Can anyone tell me how many tons of cooling this is? I am guessing it does not do any heating.
Model #MPS050AE4DV1CYBV
Serial #FBOU081001739
Would you call this a self contained unit or a dx unit?
Thanks

That would be a 50ton Roof Top Unit or RTU. It has DX cooling, that is Direct Expansion or simply the Refrigerant cools the air, opposed to a CW unit that has Chilled Water to cool the air.

hvac6470, you might want to check in the educational forums, to see if they have the same info you had originally posted. if not, you may want to contact the EFC and submit it to them. that is info that many could benefit from.
PS: Nice catch.
