If the city feels the business is open to the public and is practising discrimination (In this case having a discrimatory policy even though they don't refuse service) then the business is operating illeagally. I see little difference between having a public policy against a minority group and blocking the door and handing out axe handles. Either way discrimantes.
When a business is open to the pubic everything changes and certain freedoms take a back seat.
Here there was a phothgraphy studio that refused to take wedding pictures of a gay couple. The couple sued and won.
I know it seems strange that a business can't choose who they will serve. The price of being public. I guess the signs that said "We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone" isn't legal.Tracers work both ways.

Maybe I should take a break from HVAC talk since my being slightly younger than the majority here is not allowing me to have the same ideals as many. It was the older generations that allowed the politicians to take over while everyone sat around in their comfy recliners doing nothing was it not? You blame the younger generations but was it not the older guys n gals who raised us? The same older people that bought us video games and forced pills down our throats because the drug companies pushed doctors to sell ADD medication?
Thank you for working hard and keeping America strong.

All generations share the blame as to how we got to where we are. The generation that elected FDR did us no favor. So, I don't anyone is placing all the blame on the current generation. My own parents and grandparents made some pretty poor decisions for which I am left to live with.
What matters now is what we do.

Personally I hope you don't take a break. Many people as they age have this mistaken attitude that they are the best generation and seem surprised when confronted with another opinion. Confrontation is good.
I was coming of age in the 60's (early) and the older generation came down on some of us with clubs and bullets. Talk about over reaction.
One thing though, politicans always take over. In this country they are put in power by a majority of largely uninformed population many of who haven't read a book since high school.
But often your generation isn't so different in many ways. A little history will show that. The younger gen has always had to bear the criticism of the older one. Me personally, I wish I could do it all over and envy those that are just starting this amazing adventure.
In fairness though, you probably asked for the vidio games but probably not the pills.Tracers work both ways.

I don't think you will get any argument from my age group that is has been mostly socialist thinking leftists of my age group that created this mess. I was part of that group when I was a teen, but I grew out of my need for others to take care of me. It is a shame that so many of my peers did not.
