    can you solder copper refrigeration lines with a turbo torch using mapp gas

    I have before it worked fine,but I heard it can over heat o-rings,shrader valves,etc.You would'nt think it's true,considering it does'nt get as hot as acy & oxg,but you have to leave heat on longer.I would use a good heat shrink if thats all you have.

    works ok on the small lines, but not very good on larger lines, compressor stubs, and service valves.

    Up to about 3/4" it does OK. Any bigger and it basically just turns the brazing compound to sludge.

    The turbo torch has two nozzles. Without a curved handpiece it's difficult to maneuver quickly. I'd say the joint needs to be very out in the open.

    Is it hot enough, yes. Is it wide enough - maybe. Will you be happy with it - not likely.
