I picked up the Appion G1 (not the G5 twin) for under $500 this spring. It works awesome, and is small enough to fit on the van full-time without being in the way. More than enough for residential stuff.
I am buying a new recovery machine, which would you recommend?

I will use the equipment for light to heavy commercial use. I needa reliable equipment for every refrigerant. Thanks
Appion G5 all the way. Use all the time light to heavy commercial. Fast and reliable. Not to heavy and compact. Works even quicker if you pull the valve cores. Go to appion web site to see some nice videos. Hope this helps.

G5 Twin. Quit looking at others and trust us, you won't be dissapointed.
Appion G5. Not too heavy, great piece of equipment.
Thanks!!!!
Appion for sure
Def the appion. Last company i worked for had the g5, pull the cores and it will make quick work on resi system. I have the g1 now. not quite as good as the g5 but still better than other brands and is priced very well for the quality.
Thanks for the advice bougth the G5 today no regrets.
Read the directions and understand your machine. It will pump liquid pretty fast in or out of the machine. Have to throttle down when pumping back in to stop from slugging. Like said before, pretty good vids out there. Congrats on your purchase.

We had to change a mini split on a roof with no outlets. It was a weird situation had an electrician there who got us outlet wired. We hooked up and shortly after saw the magic smoke and shut it down. I tested voltage on outlet and found 220. We grabbed a diff unit to finish, but a few months ago I tried the g5 and it still worked lol, just not as good. Still haven't figured out a good way to tell my boss. Must be a tough unit.
If it's still running, you might only have damaged the capacitor. Open up the unit and test the capacitance, should be about 200MFD. It probably is reading low, so replacing that might just get the unit running smoothly again. Call us at the factory if you need help getting the replacement.
appion g5 twin turbo, only prob is i usually have to cool the recovery tanks. otherwise it runs like a dream, and i have beat the crap out of it for the past 5 years. get some spare guages for the face when you buy it, the spring guages tend to pop apart if you deadhead it for any reason.
this thread tells me i need to buy some stock in appion, no other brand was even mentioned!
I pulled it apart and this is what I found. It reads 206 mfd.
Looks like rough though
