That type of work and Goodman go hand in hand. Not trying to offend anybody but a proffessional contractor should offer good reliable equipment. Where im from anybody can walk in to a supply house that sells Goodman and buy equipment. In a way it could be a mess that Goodman made.

I understand installation is key but Goodman is alot more accessible to hacks than the other brands. Almost all of the professional installs ive seen has had a good brand name sitting in place. Like stated before, i have three supply houses within a twenty mile radius that my wife could walk in and buy a system. Surely Goodman has to know.

Ill apologize for the "reliable'' comment but based on most goodman installs ive seen and found on this site, there is no reliability due to hackjobs. Im sure with correct installation theyre worth the cheap price paid for a ten year unit. Its been my experience and probably most of yours that the customer choosing the lowest bidder.... well?

The real culprit was the original guy not installing the correct width heater the future Goodman guy needed for the coil install.
This is why Rheem is no good.
