Looking to replace my exist 3 ton upflow system with a 16 SEER 2-Stage heat/cool with VS furnace. I've been advised that it would be better to change to a horizontal furnace as it's better for moisture removal (located in Houston). Is this statement correct?

Assuming horizontal is the way to go, what are the pros & cons of an A-Coil vs. a Slab Coil?

    Thanks in advance.

I don't know that a horizontal insulation removes more humidity. I have installed several horizontal systems just due to their new sizes. The new 14 + 16 seer coils are huge, no room for the plunims. The "A" Coil will always be my favorit, but there are other good coils, "N", "W", Slant Fin.
