You need to go back to that customer and check the draft on that furnace and see what was causing the vent to rust out because you had a drafting problem for that to occur. They could be getting poisoned with low level CO and not know it.Originally posted by eagle1154
I had a customer who's vent rotted through on a low boy furnace.Not sure how it didn't get carbon monoxide poisoning.

The rotted flue was caused by a humidifier.I replaced the flue assembly with OEM equipment.What was happening was when the blower would come on,it would draw water in too fast from the humidifier,causing the water to collect on the flue inside the blower compartment.
