    Compressor Carnage

    40 hp discus on a thermobank unit, only a year old.

    Cope Semi hermetic....you can buff that right ??

    That's not bad really. Iv'e opened up 06Es with half the piston head missing. One O6d where the piston and a piece of the piston rod came out with the valve plate.

    Were those the right gaskets on it? Thats terrible wear. TXV?

    Waiting on parts to get it running again. Then the fun begins, findind out
    what caused it. This unit has xdx valves, not sure if they are set up
    right or not.

    It ate the valves.

    It no way its that "Compressor carnage".

    What caused it ?


    Liquid slug at start up. There ya go.

    Yea not too bad. We had an 06E crank fail. A portion of the crank was shoved on out through the oil pump. Oil pump on ground case wide open. I would have loved to have the panels off and see that.

    On a side note does anyone put presents inside compressor crankcases before they get sent back?

    Do you think a hamster would make back to Carlyse alive. ?

    Well regardless Im shoving a stuffed teddy bear in the next one I send back.

    Or a bunny ? Maybe if its easter.

    I just put odd things sitting around us in them. Then chuckle when I think about the rebuild guy that opens it and scratches his head.

    Only if its a core.

    They would probably refuse the claim if it was a warranty compressor.
