    Hi Guys,
Thanks for the wealth of info on this forum. I live in South Louisiana and I need a new A/c. I have looked at geothermal(like the idea), am waiting on cost of installation. Now I am trying to understand conventional heat pumps. Are there any advantages/disadvantages to heat pumps in my local area
    Just some facts:
Home:--- 1800 sqft. 40yr old Brick on slab
Local weather:-- 95 in summer w/90% humidity
    40-50 in winter w/80% humidity
most of cost associated with this unit will be "cooling"
    To reiterate:
Are ther any pros/cons/ with a "convential air" heat pump for me???

Geo or Conv.,look at controls similar to Carrier's Infinity to control your home's indoor humidy as well as cool it.

Use search on this site "Infinity" to see what other homeowners think of their Infinity.
