    -80 Advice

Finally have to replace an aging Revco -80 Chest freezer. I've narrowed it down to two choices for the new freezer:

Sanyo Chest MDF594CPA (17 CF) sold by Panasonic

Revco Chest ULT179010A (17 CF) sold by Thermo

Anybody who's worked on these or related freezers have a strong opinion about reliability (the main issue for me)?

I'm leaning towards the Sanyo because it has an extra year warranty on the compressors and I like the heating element in the top to keep down ice build-up (I'm in the very humid Southeast U.S.). But I know Revco has (had?) a great reputation.

    Many thanks in advance.

Go Sanyo. Don't even second think it. Revco isn't what it used to be.
