Getting ready to go get some remote ice machines and was wondering can ya pump these things down like a air conditioner, where ya just close of the high side valve and let'r pump down and close off the suction valve to hold the freon, these are remote condensors on icemakers and ive seen a lot but never fooled with them at all,i didnt know it ya could pump'm down or not or if the brand matters or not as for if they have valves or not to pump the freon in the condensor,i guess if they dont we will recover the freon for we have no other means of getting them moved without except the hack way,and besides that 408 is high stuff, just about worth the time to recover. So anyway they are 10 remote condensor system icemakers that we will be moving and was wondering if you guys think in most cases can ya pump the system down or do you generally have to recover, thats the main question, thanks, that is if hopefully they still have the electric on.

have not seen an ice maker that could be pumped down. some you have to do recovery from multiple points to get it all out.

No, the big line comes right off te discharge so there's no way to contain it. Gotta recover, and as stated above you may need to connect to the discharge and liquid lines to get both sides of the Headmaster. Do the same when pulling a vacuum BTW.
An exception would be the models that have the compressors in the condenser like the Scotsman Eclipse of Manitowac Quiet Cube.
