I would like to retract my statement about you having to have a contact or. If it is a small unit then there is no need for one.

Knowing the compressor can pump to around 0, try to set the low pressure control by using a small handy air pump ( most supply have it) , along with a good continuity tester and accurate set of gages, your cut out should be 0 psi, then rewired the pressure control so when it opens the condensing unit will shot down
