Fieldpiece SPK1
I know this is not an expensive tool but while I was using it today it started to display LLL and not do anything. I changed the battery and still nothing. Does that mean it is deaded?
To the man who always did it right. I love you dad and I will miss you to much for words.

I use the SPK1 all the time. The few I have managed NOT to lose long enough for this to happen, I took apart and the wires to the probe had broken at the pivot point, most likely from opening/closing one to many times.
If I don't lose one, I usually get about 1 to 1 1/2 years out of them before i get a LLL on the screen (and I use them several times a day).
All that being said I still love the SPK1. The folding feature is great for wedging it in a duct, and allowing the temp to stabilize while doing something else. I know It lasts longer than other pocket thermometers because the probe folds away. I have broken so many where the metal probe meets the plastic housing.Hi, my name is Glenn, and I'm a Toolaholic!
