    disappearing pins

Can the little pins on a mechanical defrost timer work itself loose and fall off or is someone messing with it? the timer is laying flat.

Have had it happen on the paragon timers but the pin should be there in the bottom of whatever the timer is mounted in.

I've only seen it once or twice, really, and you will find the pin nearby.

I'd be more suspicious of someone tampering with it.

Hard to believe the pins could come out with the dial facing up.
Did the pins magically find there way back to the storage rack as well ?

They probably found their way into other units that needed additional defrost times

    36. Lol. I'm in need of 2 for a basic 24 hr timer. I used my only back up set the other night. It's a shame to see a perfectly good working timer motor with nothing to initiate a defrost.

Had one about ten days ago that was short a pin, and found it laying down in the area under the wheel. The clock is mounted on its back. Maybe that big garter snake that lives under the condensing unit removed it.
One way to outthink people is to make them think you think. They'll think you're not really thinking what you're trying to get them to think you think...........
