did you braze near that txv ?
if so did you have a soaking wet rag on it ?
Just installed arcoaire 2.5 ton 410a txv system and cant get any superheat?
any advice would be helpful. triple evacuated to 50 microns with dry nitrogen
did you braze near that txv ?
if so did you have a soaking wet rag on it ?
I used heat sink and never had a problem before, would that cause no superheat?
I thought it would close off the valve if overheated. thanks alot for your time
Indeed, could have warped the valve body. Double check that the bulb is insulated so it's not picking up ambient air temp.
indoor blower turning correct direction ?
make sure you have good air flow out the vents , if its not blowing well , check that wheel direction

Would overheating the bulb cause no superheat and normal subcooling, also the unit is cooling, however im concerned about the superheat and didnt want to change it out unless necessary , or could it be another problem?
12 degree is what the unit is calling for.

you didnt install it backwards didya ...
I would be concerned to if a new install is running with zero superheat.
Liquid refrigerant is most likely making it back to the compressor. If its not causing damage by way of slugging its washing the oil and eventually you'll experience bearing failure.
Its hard to believe you have any liquid seal with a Txv wide open. If you've confirmed your readings are correct and there is no adjsutment on that TXV then your only option is to replace it.
Thanks alot for all the help.... 12 degree subcooling and 0 on the superheat both measured at the condenser. everything else seems fine and its cooling well, I should have disconnected the bulb rather than relying on the heat sink though. If anyone thinks of anything else to check id rather not have to change out the valve. thanks again
The txv was factory installed and insulated I did use heat sink around the connection, maybe not enough
Thanks SIX I thought overheating the bulb would close off the txv??

I just checked my notes on the job the unit is requiring 12 degrees of subcooling and i had 10. Could it be slightly overcharged?
