I think when he says "large tonnage RTAA" he is referring to the 130 to 400 ton RTAA with the 'UCP1 style' controls as opposed to the "small tonnage RTAA" which would be the 70 to 125 RTAA with 'UCP 2' style controls.

Do you mean bad temp sensor? The RTAA doesn't have transducers.

This is why people who dont understand RTAAs shouldnt start them up .
No gas , = no lube = metal to metal rotors =dead compressor .

You have a very good point there. I knew what he meant by large tonnage RTAA. It's a common informal way of describing the machines around here.

Is the blue kool-aid making you a little grumpy, Jay? lol

and this is coming from YOU?

not fussy, just tired of people asking for help but only giving what they want to and then getting pissy about the lack of help or questions. i was pretty sure i knew what tonnage he was talking about, but it is obvious, that the OP did not know exactly what he was talking about. there was a post about a month or 2 ago about a guy who thought that 12000 btuh was a pretty big system.

the OP wanted to prevent the A or B compressor from running...but you can't. you CAN prevent Circuit #1 or Circuit #2 from running but not the individual compressors. now, if he had more than 2 compressors (which is available in this model TYPE) then that changes some of his options even further since Compressor A and Compressor B are on the same circuit in the REALLY SUPER AWESOME BIG tonnage models...so what advice do i give him? i guess none.

see my very tired point? i am tired.

Jay, hope the blue cool aid starts doing it for you real soon mate or would recommend a switch back to pudding...."prevent the A or B compressor from running...but you can't"

As you know there is allways a way but not suitable discussion topic for an open forum and dependant on the model #, at least the first 10 digits.
